Updates on COVID-19
The Mayor’s Office has worked closely with our Public Health Department and community in providing the latest updates on the COVID-19 pandemic. See the following links for useful info:
Mayor Arreguin knows access to healthcare is key to community well-being, and is working to identify and address disparities.
For example, African Americans make up less than 10 percent of Berkeley's residents, but represent 40 percent of clients of the Alameda County Behavioral Health Care Services and Berkeley Mental Health.
To address these and other inequities, the Mayor's Office is working to address health disparities and open an African American Holistic Resource Center that would, among other things, offer culturally sensitive therapy and support services.
