Mayor to Issue Report on State of the City

Berkeley Mayor Jesse Arreguin will discuss the "state" of the city at his annual address before the community Monday, June 25. The speech will take place at Berkeley City College, 2050 Center St., starting 6:30pm. Doors open at 5:45pm.

This is an exciting and challenging time for the city. At the end of this month, we will be opening the Pathways STAIR Center, the first step in our efforts to end unsheltered homelessness in Berkeley. Thanks to Measure T1 many of our streets, sidewalks, parks and recreational centers will be improved, and many of our students get extra support from afterschool enrichment and tutoring programs funded through 2020 Vision.

We are also taking steps to make Berkeley more resilient to climate change through improvements in infrastructure and emergency preparedness.

Mayor Arreguin will share progress made since his election November 2016, and present future plans, including solutions to the housing affordability and homelessness crisis, infrastructure and education. All Berkeley residents are welcome to attend this free event. RSVP required.
